Join the Fun Run for Charity from Berakah Education Centre to the Viv Village in Mamelodi on the 11th of September from 12h00 to 16h00. We will be walking/running/crawling or what ever it takes, through the township to raise funds for the two charities. The children from both centres will join in the run and all participants will be asked to get sponsors per kilometer. At our destination, we will have a braai and some fun for the kids. Directions to Berakah:

On the N4 north (direction Emalahleni/Witbank) take the Hans Strydom exit and continue left into Mamelodi. Stay on Hans Strydom until a BP Garage is on the opposite left corner. At this intersection turn right into Hector Petersen (away from the BP Garage) Hector Petersen ends in a T Junction with a circle in.

From this circle to Berakah: Turn left and first left. (Entrance around the corner)

From this circle to Viva: Turn right and continue (road makes a 90 degree bend and a few curves) until this road becomes Moshumi and ends in a Cul de Sac. (Viva Village is on the left)

To conceptualize and operate projects and programs for:


* Early Childhood Development,

* Support of School-Aged Children and Youths

* Support of Vulnerable Families

* Home-based OVC, HIV & AIDS Care (in partnership with the Viva Foundaiton, Echo Youth and the University of Pretoria)

* Adult Basic Education and Training, including Life Skills and facilitating small business initiatives

* Establishing education centres in underprivileged communities across South Africa.

Governance
Berakah is governed by a Board which in turn answers to the Community Impact Trust. The Chairman of the Board, presently Edwin Corbett, is elected annually

Berakah is managed by the CEO, Meleney Kriel, who is appointed by the Board

The Board put into place a Financial Committee and the CEO put into place Staff Committees

Berakah presently has 26 staff members

The books are independently audited by the company Strachen and Crause and submitted to SARS annually after the AGM

The members of the Board, committees and staff of Berakah hold themselves accountable to SARS, the Dept. of Social Development, the Community Impact Trust, our donors, the public and the communities we serve

Berakah operates according to a constitution, which is approved by the Tax Exemption Unit of SARS governing PBO's and the Dept. of Social Development, governing NPO's
