REOPENING BERAKAH
In order to reopen, Berakah needs to comply with new strict health regulations. We'll have to replace all the carpeting with tile, plaster and paint walls, install ceilings, purchase tons of sanitizer and masks, and build shelving that keeps the children's personal items from touching one another, among other things.

The cost to reopen in a safe and compliant way is tremendous: one remodeled classroom is around ZAR56,000 (currently about $3,500), and that doesn't consider the cost of required daily health supplies such as sanitizer.
