Poverty. Nutritional Deficiencies. Inadequate Learning Opportunities. Scarce Resources.

This is the reality for the community that Berakah Education Foundation seeks to serve with early childhood education services.

A significant number of young children in South Africa grow up at risk for developmental delay.  But early detection and intervention can change the life story of these vulnerable children and give them the “head start” they need to be successful in school and in life. Berakah wants to take action and tackle early developmental problems before they become more difficult or even impossible to reverse.

The love little eyes campaign is focused on vision and hearing. While all five senses play a role in early development, vision and hearing guide every learning experience. Even minor problems can have a major impact on learning.

25% of the children this year in our early childhood development center in Mamelodi East have been identified with vision and hearing impairments.

The children who have been identified through vision and hearing screenings need to be seen by professionals for a thorough examination and treatment plan. Unfortunately, most of our families cannot afford the medical treatment needed.Your monetary contributions or donation of used children’s glasses can make the difference between success or failure in a child’s education.
